Hello,
I'm a student trying to get the hang of programming games in my spare time. For now I'm only trying in VB but am seeking to expand this to c++ and perhaps Delphi, ...
So far I've a small Tetrisclone in Dx7 but will try to make a RPG once my exams (snif) are over.
Great to C that the forums gets a Belgian chapter aswell now
I thought it would come since we've some great belgian developers residing
... (Larian Studios anyone
)
Greets,
Breezer
Hello all,
I am looking forward meeting you on one of the chapter events.
Please feel free to introduce yourself and throw some of your ideas at us for what can be done to improve the Belgian game developer community. If you are in touch with people in Belgium that are involved or interested in game development please feel free to tell them about our chapter.
For those that have not done so yet, don't forget to enroll yourself to the announcement list at http://www.igda.org/belgium/submitdata.htm.
Best regards,
Filip
3 creative minds trying to live the European dream. UNDERdog.be represents a small team of multimedia specialists with one goal in mind: delivering instant 3D game action on the web!
http://www.underdog.be
We started the UNDERdog project on the 20th of March 2002.
Since then we've created several demo-games. This year our main focus will go to completing some of these demo's. So hopefully if things go right, you'll have some great FULL games to play this year
)
Remember, our goal is not to create great big game wonders. We just want to provide some INSTANT ONLINE ACTION. We are very aware that a 3 headed gamestudio is unable to produce the quality and detail the BIG COMMERCIAL gamedevelopers are offering.
One thing is sure... there seems to be a lack of 3D browser games. We almost got 1.000.000 unieke IP's playing our games in April 2003. After that our hosting company has decided to limit the amount of simultanious users to our website. So if you get an error, just RELOAD a few times.
Anyway, the last year of development has been really great, but although we've been developing websites and some educational games, our financial resources are running really low and our server-costs are getting higher... (over 300 GB bandwidth transfer per month)
We tried using a Pay-Per-View system on our website, but that too does not seem to be a good sollution...
Suggestions are welcome!
Respect!

I can't believe what I'm reading... I prayed the gods for this and they made it come true. A Belgian Chapter, what could be better in this humble world.
So, anything chosen as place to gather together??? I really hope this will start soon.
There is no gathering place nor date set so far because we are still working on building a database of people related to game development in Belgium.
If you know anyone interested or working in the game development industry please feel free to refer them to our chapter page!
Very good game Underdog.
I played it some time ago but i didn't saw that it was made by belgian peoples
So Congratulations !
Hi everyone!
Yves again.
How to get involved in concept art in Belgium?
If you are a game/multimedia company working to develop interesting projects, and seeking a vision, I am certainly willing to take part.
Further more, bringing design and ideas together and turning images to life with other people, programmers, modellers, and other artists is quite nice.
The is a few samples of my work here

you won't see any image in the thumbnails frame, so just kindly click on it no matter the samples are behind.
If you think I could bring a touch to your operation or otherwise feel interested in further discussion, I will send credentials, ref. or other samples upon request.
Don't hesitate to post your comments or feedback on this.
Have a nice life!
Yves
Hello guys,
I am the creator of the Star Wars Combine online simulation - http://www.swcombine.com - considered by LucasArts as a direct concurrent to their upcoming famous SW Galaxies ...
I made my thesis about Networked Virtual Environment last year at the Free University of Brussels (ULB). You may download it here: http://cs.ulb.ac.be/publications/MT-02-01.pdf
I am currently working as designer and programmer for embedded systems but I keep developing the Combine during my evenings.
I have projects for the future, hopefully in the gaming industry.
Hope to meet you one of those days.

Greetings!
