Game/Level designers needed
Our client is a medium sized studio in the heart of Montreal. With a reputation for developing great franchise titles aimed at teen audiences they are looking for multiple designers for their team. This company provides a fantastic work environment and is a growing name in the industry.
Lead Designer
The Lead Game Designer has the responsibility to schedule, structure and organized the work of his department. Acting as a visionary, the Lead Game Designer must implement design techniques and methodologies. They are responsible for the design workflow and pipeline and must also challenge and motivate the Game Designer to help them create the best content. The Lead Game Designer’s role includes:
-Designing fresh, exciting concepts for video games
-Writing and maintaining sales pitch documents for new upcoming projects
-Writing and maintaining concept and design Documents
-Understanding the client’s needs and responding well to change and input from all departments
-Assisting the Game Director and Project Manager in their scheduling tasks and risk assessments
-Interfacing with clients to pitch competitive ideas and see the game’s vision through to completion as their primary design liaison
-Working closely with the Creative Director to ensure quality across all products
-Creating the schedule for new projects as well as managing the level and game designer’s time and monitoring the quality of the product
-Interfacing with the designers and project leads on a daily basis
-the ability to deal with multiple projects simultaneously
-Giving feedback on the Documents created by the Level and Game Designers
Requirements- 5 yrs exp + design credits on at least 3 console titles
Game Designer

Level Designer
The Level Designer has to understand the client’s needs and design a quality game experience that will challenge the production team with the constraint of time and budget. The Game Designer daily tasks include:
-Creating compelling levels and play experiences
-3D modeling to rough out levels for artists
-Ability to translate your ideas into a visual form
-Scripting of events within levels
-Writing and maintaining LDD’s (Level Design Document)
-Understanding the client’s needs
-Designing and Creating in-game Levels using Photoshop/Level Tools
-Integrating art assets using the Level Building Tools
-Testing the in-game menus, levels, mechanics and entire flow of the game
-Working closely with the Lead Designer on a daily basis to ensure quality across all products
