Hi,

I am a member of the Orlando chapter but I have lived in Columbus all my life, except for now because I am attending school.

I was not aware that there were any game companies within the Greater Columbus area but if there are that would be fantastic. My question to you guys is: Are there any game devolopment houses in and/or around Columbus that I could look to for possible emplyment in the future and if there is what kind of games do these companys produce?

Thanks,
Raymond Chandler III

P.S. Go Buckeyes. ^_^

Hi Raymond,

There are only a few companies that I know of here in Ohio, but there are a lot of people with an interest in game development. There are also several colleges and universities that have interests in video games and some are starting or have started game programs as wekk

There's Hyperkat Studios in southern Ohio.

iSeeSoft in Cinci, but I think they're doing things not as game related these days.

There's a studio that I think is in Dublin/Columbus...I don't remember the name right now, but they seem to do modeling, etc. mostly for military applications...if someone reads this and knows the company name, please post it. I think they're on Sawmill Road...Black something or other.

There was also a company called 5Digit Studios that was working on kids educational games, but I'm not sure if they're still around or not.

I hope this helps.

Hi Ray,

My start-up is called Futur-E-Scape, LLC and we are in the process of moving into our new offices across the river in Kentucky to the Madison E-Zone Technology Incubator.

We are incorporated in Ohio and I live in Cincinnati. Our main product right now is a line of game development assets, from SFX to 3D Models. We are also actively engaged in MMO technology and our flagship physics game, Physics Adventures in Space-Time, is the subject of an upcoming National Science Foundation grant.

I also know of another company, NextScale, that is based in columbus and does serious game development.

Let me know if you'd like to talk some more or if you'd like me to put you in touch with the few people I do know.
