I just wanted to say thanks again for Howard Dortch of hyperkat games (hyperkat.com) for coming in and talking at our past meeting. We had a good turn out and Howard was both entertaining and informative. I really thought he hit the nail on the head with what needs to be done to start a games company.

I'd like to hear other people's opinions about this past meeting as well, so please respond. Howard was much more leaning toward the programming and production end...for the next meeting, I'm hoping to wrangle in a friend of mine on the art end of things. What does everyone think?

I thought the meeting was good. I heard Howard speak at the Shawnee Conference a couple years ago, and he is enjoyable to listen to.

If you could manage to get someone to speak about the art end, that would be great. It seemed like most of us (myself included) are programmers, but it would be good to cover all aspects of game development.
