Newbie ways to break into the industry

Hi, I wanted to see what others are doing to get into the industry in the Midwest. *This is more of a starter post for all of us that are fresh out of college or going to be...Although it will be different for each area you may be trying to go in, I myself am pursuing a career into Game Design and am working on a 3 year project that's an MMORPG, under the Multiverse engine.
