Video Game Museum

Hello,
I've been slowly planning in the back of my mind for years now to create a video game museum. I've put a lot of thought into it, and have been working steadily towards educating myself in the proper fields, albeit in a bounce around manner. I was wondering if anyone could provide some insight into this kind of endeavor... I'm currently starting to take a Heritage Resource Management University certificate program (Museum-related studies) online part-time and intend to take the Game Design course at VFS hopefully this October (still need to apply, I just want to try and get everything ready for my application and such first). Also, for the more computer-related side of things I have got 19/20th's of a IT Diploma (failed one course, but was hoping to use a similar course from the VFS Game Design course to get transfer credits for the course ). I'm also currently taking the Video Game Console Design course from GameInstitute.com, so I'll even have some basic EE knowledge.
Any help, advise, encouragement, etc. is very welcome!
Have a good day!

I too am in the midst of starting a museum, however I am a Canadian, and most vintage games are in the US. Are you from the US? There may be an opportunity for collaboration if you are interested. We need someone in the US to help us out.
Thanks

Heh, nah just another Canuck... *shrugs* If you're looking for some form of collaboration, my interest may be piqued... feel free to pm or email me or something if you want!

Have you tried going to existing museums? Any computer-based ones will have experienced people who do similar work. There are some listed here and you can bet they would be happy to correspond.
I am not sure any of the museum type of people are here, is the problem
(although it'd be nice if they were here).
One thing is; if you're starting a museum, yourself, from scratch, without money, you'll be hard pressed - I've heard it is quite expensive to properly preserve items, especially if you put them on display or allow people to play them, which is the point of a museum, since things break a lot. A whole load of people are needed to maintain and run them, which is possibly why there are not a great deal of such museums around.
Keep us here posted of your progress though, more museums the better!
