Any 3d Companys in Huntsville currently?
Seems like everything's more engineering and military around this city. I am currently at a game studio here in Huntsville. Is anyone still around this area? I just recently found that Huntsville has a chapter.
Hey Nathan, nice to meet you. The studio I am leaving ran out of funding and will be about 2 level designers, 3 programmers and I am the Lead Artist over there. majority of us graduated from FullSail University in Orlando Florida (fullsail.edu). Some of the people have already left to join Camber in their game projects but there not hiring anymore until a couple months down the line. And most of us would like to stay in the area I imagine. Cost of living and the area is really nice. Ill send my info into SAIC I would love LOVE LOVE to work on Americas Army. Ill send my resume and website portfolio for those headhunters you mention if thats alright with you
My website portfoilo is located at jimbo3d.com. critiques are also welcomed from anybody else.

You are correct sir. The work in Huntsville right now is overwhelmingly coming out of DoD contractors. Having said that, there is some real cutting edge work being done here in the 'serious games' space. There are also a couple of independant game projects going on, but I don't think any of them have any real funding behind them. If you don't mind me asking, what does the constituency of your team look like (artists, engineers, UI people, etc.)? Also, if you are looking to hook up with studios in the region, I would recommend going to Siege next month in Atlanta. There are a growing number of good studio there. Failing all those things, if you are willing to relocate out of the region (bah!) you can always send me a direct email (hanishn@g m a i l.com), and I can hook you up with the stack of head hunters that email me on a regular basis. Or...you could put together a business plan and marketing plan, get some financial backing, and start skimming some of the great talent that the Huntsville community is starting to produce. Good luck with that.
