I am programming a PC memory game for the blind and visually impaired that uses force feedback and sound to present game content. (Random levels and times of vibration are used.) I would be interested in knowing of any studies that have been done using inexpensive force feedback devices, such as the Logitech gamepad. I am interested in learning if blind players would have an advantage over their opponent in such a game.

Thanks, Purum, for the response. I expect to test the game with students at a local school for the Deaf & Blind. I'm using a basic gamepad with vibration to provide some of the game content. I have a theory that blind players may be better able to detect subtle vibrations of the gamepad.

I'm actually making a board game that's taken the blind into consideration. The design is simple, but the implementation that would include the blind is certainly driving the costs of production up. Upon final playtest, I'm planning on taking the game to the local lighthouse chapter here in orlando florida. This search link might help you answer that question and perhaps ask new ones:
