"Call for Speakers" - Nasscom's India Game Developer Conference
Hi All,
As some of you already know, some of us in the game development industry in India are collaborating with NASSCOM to attempt to bring you all the 1st ever INDIAN GAME DEVELOPER'S CONFERENCE.
The idea is to try to get as many people who are already in this booming industry of ours together in one place, (i.e. Everyone who is already linked with the actual production of the games and not just the suits; with all due respect to the suits of course
), and talk about various areas of game development.
We are trying to round up the best speakers with the most interesting topics related to game development in the country today and I believe a lot of these speakers are on this forum and waiting to be heard. Some of the most renowned companies in game development in India including Indiagames, Dhruva, Aurona, FXLabs, Trine and many others, have already submitted their topics for presentation at the conference.
Here's your chance to share your knowledge with other developers and aspiring developers and hopefully learn something from your peers as well. Anyone who is interested in speaking at the IGDC can e-mail your name and the name of the topic you want to speak about to ‘hrishi -AT- indiagames -DOT- com’. Once I have received the topics, I can send you the "Speaker Registration Form" which you can fill and send it officially to ‘contentigdc -AT- nasscom -DOT- org’ (I couldn’t attach the form to the post so I will e-mail it to whoever needs it).
The content selection committee of IGDC, who currently consists of some of the most experienced and renowned names of our industry today, will go through all the topics submitted and will select the best topics to be presented at the conference. The last date of submissions for your topics is 28th Feb 2009 and the content committee will let you know if you have been selected to present within a week after that. The conference is expected to be held in April at Mumbai so if selected, you would have enough time to prepare for your session.
Also, all those who are interested in either organizing the IGDC or getting involved in the content selection can contact me directly as well.
Here's looking forward to a lot of interesting topics being submitted for the IGDC.
Talk and be heard.
Regards,
Hrishi

Hi All,
The India GDC is confirmed for 7th Nov in Hyderabad. We are going to have a last round of Speaker submissions for the next two days. We are specifically looking for people to speak on Casual / Flash game development, QA and Art related topics.
So submit soon to get selected as a speaker. The details of the conference will be announced quite soon by NASSCOM.
Regards,
Hrishi
Hi Hrishi
could we have more info on what the speaker needs to discuss or share with all when it you say you're looking for specifically looking for people to speak on Casual / Flash game development. Cud we've some clarity on that. I'm keen on evangelising Flash as a game development tool anyways.

Hi Elvis,
We are in the process of shortlisting the final list of speakers for the Game Developer event on the 7th. We have a large number of submissions and a wide variety of entries spanning various fields in game development including Programming, Production, Art, Design etc.
However, we did feel that we were lacking in the casual game development front as a topic on game development, hence the call for speakers from individuals who have extensive casual game development experience. We feel this will be a good topic for beginners in the game development field to listen to at the conference.
We hope that the speakers would talk about the process of casual / flash game development and any version of such a topic would be an interesting candidate for the final list of topics.
Hope this is more clear now.
