My name is Edy Kajang. I am a full time solo indie game developer developing a PC game called Blade Thrust Tactics ( previously known as Sphere Core ). Yes, I am the one who send forum post on January 2008 asking for computer/money help for the game project I'm working on. You can click on my profile to view the previous forum posts.

Since then, I receive much needed help from Gamebrains in term of computer and some really useful technical help. Converting all of the works from papers to a functional game is really tough process. It took me almost 3 months to get the game to run for the first time but since then I'm making some good progress.

After spending some amount of time, the game is now in beta level state. So I invite you guys to become beta tester for the game. Feel free to visit the game website at http://www.bladethrusttactics.com ( thanks Buzz! ). Details can be found on the home page.

What to Expect?

In terms of arts, I must admit the game is below par. This is expected as I am not a graphic artist. My forte lies in game design and writing. Nevertheless, 2 strong points of the game are its extensive gameplay and the attention of details put into the game. The game has a similar gameplay to squad based game such as Jagged Alliance and Fallout Tactics. So you can expect there's plenty of things you can do in the game.

There are 2 gameplay layers in the game. On the surface is real time tactical combat experience of which you control a squad of 6 operatives to get rid of enemies and completing other mission objectives. Below the surface lies extensive resource management game of which you need to keep your cash flow in healthy situation. So this game is about combat and money.

If you like to play strategy game that test your combat and strategic thinking skill, the this game is what you're looking for ( boy, this sounds like an ad or something. ) I think there is still demand for the game with extensive gameplay as people is willing to pay good money for this kind of game.

But since global economic scenario looks bleak, we can't expect too much. If I can't get people to pay for this game, at least I'll try my best to get as many as people who fits the profile ( target player ) to try playing this game.

In this small space, I would like to say big thanks to Brett Bibby and some guys at Gamebrains for lending their PC for me to work on this game project and for some useful technical help. Without their help, I don't think this project will ever be finished. It probably be in a state of limbo for a long long long time.

The Next Plan?

Like I said before on my previous forum post, the game is part of a trilogy so my next plan is to release another version of the game. Hopefully the game will become better from time to time in term of arts direction, gameplay and game world settings.
