"We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that [developers] want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do"

Not necessarily gamedev related, but I heard that while doing some math routines for a game engine:

"- Why did the vector cross the road?"
"- Because it wanted to be normal!"

Incidentally, #8 would be an insta-fire in my book (LOL)

#5 is a red flag for "useless programmer" (ha ha)

#3 could be legit, but it could also be a red flag for "never want to work with this programmer again"

And, Gary beat me to #1... the universal programmer phrase.

Hello? Is this thing on?
Thank you ladies and gentlemen, I'll be here all week. Don't forget to tip the waitstaff.

Each game purchase comes with a free developer in the box who will live with you and critique your techniques to guide you towards getting the most out of your game-playing experience.

Coding conventions... they are like pizza toppings.
