Next game dev meet
Sorry guys but I have been out of the Hyd chapter for a while. I've managed to finally finish my first game. It's called "Magnacarta 2" and it will be launched in Japan on Aug 6th. "Rest of the world" a month later. It's an Xbox 360 game and uses the Unreal Engine 3. Links and lot:

That is very sad to hear indeed.
I don't belong to ANY chapter of IGDA, since I belong to Kolkata. But I thought of asking something. What did you work on exactly?? Like your designation for that game. I'm sorry if this is off-topic. But you didn't mention that.
Umm I worked on almost all the systems other than audio and networking. Graphics, tools, particle systems, optimisations and gameplay to name a few. My designation was "Console engine programmer"
Thanks. Since I didn't know you that much I was wondering ...
Very cool (Trailers and Demos), nice work
Thanks a lot. The team back at Softmax deserves a lot more credit than me.
Nice work there on Magnacarta II.
Few Questions:
1. Is the game originally localized for Japan? I see that the characters dont lipsync with the voice over
2. First part was for PS II and this version if for 360 only. Why dint you guys plan to get a PS3 version out?
Cheers,
Arun
Yes, the game was localised for Japan but it is a trivial task to do lip sync for other languages since the face is not animated by the animators. It is done procedurally depending on the phonetics.
Softmax can do a PS3 version but it all depends on what the publisher wants. PS2 was a no brainer choice since it was the only console with a big enough user base. Did you play any of the earlier versions of Magnacarta? MC2 in EN will be out sometime soon btw.

The chapter is pretty much dead I think. Nothing much happening. Feel free to set one up and let us know the time and place.
