Just experimenting guys, wanted to segregate art from programming and game design and whatnot, so this here's the art link dump!

Pretty awesome, Sony Entertainment Online's started an art portal featuring artwork from their lineup of games. Definitely a good place to get workflow or technique ideas or just have your eyes glaze over at the awesome art.
Even a programmer like me appreciate things like this!
Wicked link Ryan!
Gonna throw myself into another contest, with only 18 days to go, woo! Hope some other folks join me!
One of the best environment concept artists around. He had a bunch of tutorials up before, maye you can still find them.
Some more environment concept art from Istvan Pely, who's worked on games like Fallout 3.
Some concept art from teh movie "over the hedge". It's not the most well known animated film but this spread of concept art features one of my new favorite artists of all time, Nicholas Marlet, who is responsible for the creature concept designs in Kung Fu Panda. Definitely some great linework and emotion to be seen here.

Yeah, Marlet's pretty amazing.
Kris Kuksi, contemporary traditional artist who does unreal scultpure work.

And a photoblog of the making of the Kerrigan statue at Blizzcon

^ My... Kerrigan looks much more terrible and icky now.
Sigh. I hate aliens! (OT)
This one's a little old, but if you loved the design of Bioshock you'll want to check out the free Bioshock art book (in high and low res versions) here:

Since artbooks always cost a ton of money. it was pretty cool of 2Kgames to release this baby for free.
Palit's hilariously named mascot needs a remake, so start your wacom tablets ladies and gents! I mean seriously, how awesome would it be to point to palit's boxes and say "That's my frobot!"
Check out this upcoming game which has art direction by Michel Gagne (who worked on films such as The American Tale, The Land Before Time, The Iron Giant, etc.)

A very informative piece on what's shaping up to be one of my "games I can't wait to play", Torchlight. It discusses the evolution of the art style they ultimately chose for the game, and is a fascinating read not just for someone interested in the art, but in how game design choices get made.
