Game Art and Design Teacher, full-time

Kajaani University of Applied Sciences is pleased to announce that the following vacant temporary teaching post (1.1.2010 – 31.12.2011) is open for applicants in the Services Department (Business Information Technology, Digital Games):

Game Art and Design Teacher, full-time

Your duties will include teaching in the Game Art and Game Design courses and supervising student game production teams. You will also be expected to supervise theses and develop teaching and instruction in the field of computer games.

The post will initially be temporary for the first two years yet will probably become permanent when the temporary contract ends.

The general terms of eligibility for this post are set out according to statute 352/2003. The salary and the terms and conditions of service are decreed according to the Contract of Employment of Municipal Official Post Holders and Teaching Staff (OVTES) 2007 – 2009 section D. As an applicant you will be particularly suitable for this post if you possess prior hands-on experience of game development (you must be able to present your portfolio), experience of online (virtual) teaching and the ability to teach in English. The ability to deliver teaching in Finnish is not strictly necessary. If the applicant’s mother tongue is not Finnish, he/she must demonstrate that he/she has sufficient skills in the English language. Teaching will mainly take place in the Business Information Technology Degree Programme and also in other fields (e.g. Engineering) and in supplementary training schemes.
