Good day to everyone...

I'm genz and I am an I.T student hopefully graduating this year. I'm just asking for some suggestions and opinion about my questionnaire or survey that i will be conducting about my game since my game is a 3d action-adventure game that has an elements of solving problems, collection of items, puzzle and maze type obstacles and ai and it is also a story based game. The story of the game is all about an archaeologist also a treasure hunter that is seeking for treasures like hidden artifacts and gemstones...in my thesis it is required to have an existing game that will serve as my basis in the developing the proposed game. My existing game is PITFALL: BEYOND THE JUNGLE. Please give me some suggestions about my survey/questionnaire what type of questions or details, I must include in my questionnaire.

Anyway the title of my game is JUNGLE QUEST HUNTER so i also want some comments about the title of my game...

That's it, i just need your comments, opinions, suggestion and even violent reactions guys if it is needed,heheh...

THANKS!...

so i just want to know what are the problems can be encountered in playing the existing game since it is only a 2d action-adventure game so what features it lacks?, and what are the advantages or benefits i will get now when i develop my 3d action-adventure game, based from my recent post about the elements in my game, so what are the features i must improve or must be improved in developing my game so the problem is what type of question i must include..since my questionnaire only compose of 6-7 questions i thinking about making a flow in my questionnaire, the flow is i will first introduce the existing game then what are the problems encountered in that game then i will introduce my proposed game and lastly what is the benefits or learning everyone will get in playing my game based on the type of game and elements it has...

"gagawa ka ba ng game or gagawa lang ng proposal?"

That would be my initial reaction if you survey me.

kasi magkaiba yung dalawa. if you're a small team you might have a hard time actually developing a 3d game.

but if you're just making a study or survey on your game's feasibility:

1. ask if they played Pitfall and what they think about it
2. tell them how you plan to improve it in your game, outline the features and ask if it's makes the game fun

Hmm. Pero actually you might be doing this the wrong way. Build the game first, or at least a rough gameplay prototype. Then show it to people and ask if they like it and why.

Games are different from other types of software Surveys and questionnaires might work for others but you can't really do that on games, because in games you aren't really solving a quantifiable problem. How do you measure fun?

If this is some kind of school project, I'd like to have a word with whoever is teaching this.

Oh ok. Thesis pala to. Which is very sad, because most schools have this "format" that you should follow in making a thesis. Games != business software.

Sorry, I can't help you if you're going to make a game this way.

i always tought that Games is kinda == to bussiness software.

for me, games should be able to sell and should be enjoyed/use by everyone.

My thesis btw is suppose to help other people so strictly no games.

My thesis was about algorithms so it's only useful to nerds. Haha

Making a game is more like making a movie than making business software. We don't make games to solve specific problems, games are made to solve one problem alone: boredom. And unless P=NP, there is no definite solution to that.

We also solve specific problems while making core modules used by whatever game that will be using those modules.
