July 2010 Chapter Leadership Meeting Notes (07/05/10)

Update from Chair re: Chapter Chartering & July Meeting
The following is a letter from the Chair of Philadelphia IGDA:
Happy First day of Summer!!
It is my pleasure to announce that the Philadelphia Chapter of the IGDA is officially chartered!! The leadership team has been working hard on this for the last few months and I want to give a big Thank You to Tristin for getting the ball rolling on this. I'm hoping to be able to release a copy of the bylaws that we have adopted soon. Being chartered will allow us to move forward on a lot of new initiatives and will also allow us to have our own bank account and get sponsors! More info will be released on these as it happens. If you or your studio are interested in being a sponsor please let me know.

Interim Chapter Secretary Position Open
This past week, the Philadelphia IGDA Chapter Secretary informed the Chapter Leadership that he was stepping down from his duties as Chapter Secretary. As such, the Secretary position for the Philadelphia IGDA Chapter is now vacant.

Philadelphia IGDA Leadership Meeting Notes from 3/4/2010
On Thursday, March 4, the newly appointed Philadelphia Chapter Leadership team met to discuss goals for the upcoming year and the next chapter meeting.

Due to both GDC and PAX East taking place in March, in order to avoid rushing to get a meeting organized, the team has opted to forgo a March meeting. As mentioned in the meeting notes, going forward, all Philadelphia IGDA Chapter meetings will take place on the 1st Saturday of the month.
