Final Burn 2011 Report
This year we moved to a new venue because the old one shut down. The new venue seemed to work out great for us and everyone seemed to have a great time. The poster art was really impressive too! Overall there were about four studios represented, and about 20 people. It was really nice seeing what React and Wahoo and Smart Bomb were working on; their newest offerings were very impressive! We'd like to thank the volunteers that helped bring equipment and set up, and Legends for hosting! A big Thank You goes to Wahoo Studios for providing so much great food for everyone! Be sure to check out their games and support them: http://www.wahoo.com/ or http://www.ninjabee.com/
Final Burn 2010 Report
This year's Final Burn was at the newly revamped Green Street. The upstairs was sporting a couple new cabinets, but less TV's. We had 4 studios demo and members from nearly every major studio (Disney/Avalanche, EA Salt Lake, Eat Sleep Play, Smart Bomb, Wahoo, and React) attend! Most seemed to agree Disney's Toy Story 3 took home Utah Game Dev Choice award this year.
Big thanks to Wahoo Studios and NinjaBee for sponsoring! Please check out their Keflings games on XBLA and show your support for their high quality games!

Indie Night Success, SLGDRT Thursday, Next Meeting in 2 Weeks
Indie Night was a great success, hearing all the postmortems and seeing all the great demos was a blast! Not to mention finally giving out all the t-shirts. There are still some extras so we will plan on having those at GEEX to give out to the first N people that sign up for the Game-in-a-Day event there.
Reminder: SLGDRT meeting is Thursday this week. Info should be in your email. Email Ryan <ryanbutcherart@gmail.com> with any questions.
IGDA March 2010 - Sims 3 Post Mortem
Last chapter meeting saw an excellent GDC-level quality presentation by Ben Bell. Ben talked to us about producing the sequel Sims 3 and various stories such as team building, player types (listen to your players!), setting design pillars, firefighters, prototyping, and the need for all of us to sometimes, "have more fun" in what we do.
The meeting was well attended, about 20 people again, graciously hosted by EA Salt Lake.
IGDA January 2010 - Flawless Physics
Tonight was a well-attended lecture by Eric Brown, past GDC speaker and local programmer and physicist. The presentation went smoothly and EA Salt Lake provided refreshments which were enjoyed by all. Attendance was about 25 people representing about 5 studios. Special thanks to EA for graciously hosting!
GDC Share 2009
The Salt Lake City IGDA's GDC Share 2009 discussion took place on May 12th, 2009. Josh Jones, Megan Gardner, and Tim Tillotson reported on their visit to GDC and several listeners asked questions and enjoyed the discussion. Swag was given out (first pick went to paying members) and much learning was had by all.
SLC Chapter IGDA Meeting - March 2009 - Weathering the Storm
The Salt Lake City IGDA's Weathering the Storm discussion took place on March 10th, 2009. It was a fun meeting, and lots of thoughtful comments and discussion about how to help the industry thrive were heard. Three or four studios were represented, and there was much laughter and sharing of industry stories. Big thanks to Lane Kiriyama from Wahoo/NinjaBee for the wisdom and the refreshments!
