Brisbane IGDA: Game On Public Program Season 2 2010

The second season of our GAME ON public programs is all about making that dream of “going indie” happen. We start off with our own local success, Duncan Curtis, Co-owner and Director of Business and all round great BLOKE, giving the hard information on what it takes to start a company – and keep it going!

Game On Free Public Programs - April 14: From Concept to Proposal

REMINDER: Game On free public programs - WEDNESDAY 14 - all welcome

venue: the glasshouse

From Concept to proposal with Morgan Jaffit

Indie game dev is typified by small teams, short production timelines and – ideally – getting a strong work out there that engages with its audience. Indie concepts are actually the most difficult to get right because they cannot hide behind big production budgets and glamorous high end visuals. Come and join us for a presentation by a games industry veteran on the nuts and bolts of getting to the core of an idea and producing a good indie game proposal.

Game On this week: March 3rd Going Indie

Over 88% of Australian homes have some form of game playing platform, players range from young to old across genders and games are very much the medium of contemporary culture. The industry makes fortunes but the industry is also in dire need of new models of production, fresh innovative ideas and people prepared to explore potential new forms. Come and join us for a presentation by a games industry veteran who gave up the glamour of the large studios to go indie.
