Emergent Meet and Greet, Friday 8/22 at Dave & Buster’s
Come join Emergent Game Technologies as we offer an open meet and greet to those recently *inspired* game developers in the Austin area who are looking for new opportunities.
We are primarily looking for folks to support our Online Game Server product, but will be taking resumes for other positions as well. We are looking to create a core group of contract developers IN AUSTIN.

Video Games Live is coming to town:

King of King and UT Videogame Archive fundraiser on Docubloggers
Two stories will be airing the new Lone Star Emmy award winning local series, Docubloggers. Strange title, but fitting once you read the concept (cue to the website promo) at http://www.docubloggers.org: Docubloggers takes a community-driven, interactive look at life in Central Texas. Combining documentary filmmaking and viewer interaction, Docubloggers takes story ideas from the community it serves to create a mosaic of the region.
Warren Spector's Master Class in Game Development
Quick update on Master Class sessions:
- Next week's guest (10/29) is Tim Willits (Lead Designer, id Software).
- The week after (11/5) is Seamus Blackley ("Father of the Xbox" and game agent at the Creative Artists Agency)
Other sessions are still being soldified (though Richard Garriott is scheduled for 11/26, barring unforeseen circumstances).
Possibility Space Opens Austin Studio

Possibility Space, the Beijing based developer of Warrior Epic, has opened a new studio in Austin, TX. Warrior Epic is a free to play online action RPG that uses an item based revenue model. The new studio has openings for talented engineers and game designers, and offers excellent career development and international opportunities.
