Mobile Games Section Introduction

The potential audience for mobile games is not only large because of the enormous proliferation of these devices throughout the world, but also because these devices are in the hands of a wide assortment of target groups and individuals who can play them during more moments of the day than through any other console or entertainment medium. Mobile game developers are still learning how best to appeal to these different and divergent audience possibilities. In this section, we'll interview two of these developers. Gameloft is fast becoming a prominent developer of mobile games for the hardcore market, yet they are also very aware of the importance in attracting women gamers and offering more casual forms of entertainment. Chakra Interactive primarily focuses on pure and easy, quick playing casual games for the South Asian market but plans to expand it's audience. We will also see how demographics plays into the transaction methods used by mobile game developers and where this will lead in the future.
