Ottawa
Welcome to the Ottawa Chapter of the IGDA!
The International Game Developers Association is the independent, non-profit professional organization for developers of digital games. We work to build the development community and serve as its voice.
The IGDA/Ottawa group gives you access to a strong network of peers in the greater Ottawa area. IGDA Chapters connect game developers in local communities around the world. Special Interest Groups (SIGs) facilitate communication around specific topics and disciplines.
The IGDA community also gives you a voice on issues that affect your work, such as: Developer quality of life, Publisher relations, Credit and recognition, Censorship and government regulation, Diversity in game development, and Academic collaboration.
On a regular period, we are organizing meeting to connect the local industry. These meeting can be technical, informative as well as social. Whether you are an industry insider or someone just becoming interested in game development, we invite you to come out to our next open meeting!
Eventually, these meetings will be found in our event calendar. For now, check out our Mailing List! (no email required)

Dirty rectangles meeting announcement
Starting this February, Dirty Rectangles will begin month meetups at the Avant Garde Bar in downtown Ottawa. These Show and Tell styled meets will be a chance for you to come and see what's new in the Ottawa game development scene. Each meetup will start with the showcasing of a couple games being made around Ottawa, afterwards we'll open the stage up to any one that would like to show something off. It could be a final build of a game, or a small slice that you'd like to get some feedback on! It's an open mic, anything goes. We'll have a projector and computer on hand to displaying the goods.
The February meetup will feature 2 games before the open mic starts.
