Keynote 1: Nordicity Group
Speaker: Stuart Jack, & Kurt Eby
Title: Canadian Interactive Industry Profile
Quick Sum: In 2009 Nordicity completed the Canadian Interactive Industry Profile (CIIP), the most comprehensive report on the national interactive media industry to date. Using breakouts from that report, Nordicity will explore commonalities between Canada’s primary and secondary interactive media and video game development markets, including the National Capital Region. Nordicity will also draw on its experience with Canada’s film and television production industry, and in developing business plans for small games firms, to discuss business and financing models for video games development firms.

Keynote 2: Perimeter Partners
Speakers: Jason Della Rocca
Title: Failure = Success
Quick Sum: While the thought of "failing" is scary to most people, it is in fact
extremely liberating. How can we foster a tolerance for failure in
terms of taking risks and experimenting? If we are failing, it means
we are pushing the boundaries of what is possible. Further, how does
such a culture for experimentation and innovation co-exist with the
part of the industry that needs to be a serious business. As the
business evolves how does that affect the economic model of risk?
