September Meeting Recap
In honor of the release of Halo 3, the Philly IGDA hosted a LAN party complete with an ad hoc screen and a projector to create some wide screen mayhem.
We had 2 360's linked up - one inside and the other outside in the back yard. It proved particularly satisfying to frag someone in the game and then hear them scream at you through the walls
There was also a Wii so players could enjoy a little Soul Cailbur and Mario Smash while taking a break from Halo 3.
Some members even got in a round of the card game BANG! (by Mayfair Games) as bullets, grenades and gentically enhanced super-soldiers exploded all around them.
The Halo frenzy carried us until the wee hours of the morning, so we never even got a chance to fire up Gears of War (mmmm chainsaw...). That will have to wait until next time.
The lessons learned from this meeting are:
1) Pink robots are generally NOT very friendly
2) It is better if you do NOT step off the edge of the world
3) Gravity Hammers ROCK!
Thanks all who helped set up, and/or provided space, equipment, food, and/or libation for the event. A true team effort once again. Thanks also to the new faces who stopped by. We hope to see you all at the regularly scheduled meetings in the future.
Tom Bennett has posted a few photos from the event on flickr.
