Pittsburgh IGDA Elections- Call for Nominations!
Ever wonder how Pittsburgh IGDA events are planned? There's a board of volunteers who meet once a month to organize events and run the chapter. In the past, this board has been completely volunteer- we acquired board members by word of mouth. Now, as part of the IGDA chapter formalization processs, we will be holding our first ever elections! Maybe you should consider running? To nominate yourself, please fill out this form.
(This local election is separate from the main IGDA Board of Directors election, which you should already have received email about from IGDA itself. If you didn't yet, IGDA members should vote in that election now. Pittsburgh IGDA member Chuck Hoover is one of the nominees for the IGDA Board of Directors. If you have trouble accessing the voting area contact jsapp@talley.com )
The quick facts:
- Positions are for 2 year terms.
- Board members meet once a month and help run monthly events. The commitment is typically 5-10 hours a month.
- Anyone can nominate themselves to serve on the board. Only IGDA members may fill the director positions on the board.
- There are 8 open positions- 4 'Director' positions (which must be filled by IGDA members) and 4 'Event Coordinator' positions (which can be filled by anyone.)
- Only IGDA members may vote in the chapter election
- The election will be held primarily through the interwebs.
- The election will be to choose 8 board members. The elected individuals will then decide amongst themselves which of them will fill each specific role on the board in accordance with their interests and IGDA membership requirements.
