Topic: Mat Broome Visual Director of DC Universe Online will be speaking about concept work created by Wildstorm and the process of working with Jim Lee; the collaboration of designing the work and executing the look and vision of the DC Universe in the latest MMO game from Sony Online Entertainment.

Guest speaker: Mat Broome

Mat Broome’s professional experience in Entertainment goes back 22 years when he began his career working for Marvel Entertainment. Soon after he began illustrating comics professionally and started working with Image Comics out of San Diego California for Homage Studios, a Jim Lee publishing company. After working on comics exclusively, he expanded his education and attended school to learn Alias Wavefronts Power Animator 8.5.  During school, he continued to publish monthly work such as:  StormWatch, Xmen/Wildcats, Defcon 4 and Batman.  Learning high end 3D motivated him to start his own company at the age of 28.

After running Digital Broome for 6 years and working with the largest media companies in the world like Time Warner, Cartoon Network, Sony BMG, 989 Studios and Marvel, DC, and Image Comics he went on to work in the Gaming industry.

Since 2001 he has been the Art Director at Sony Online Entertainment and has shipped several games EQOA and Untold Legends: Warriors Code as Character Artist and Art Director. Currently Mats project is DC Comics Online and he is working directly with Jim Lee and Wildstorm Studios as Art/Visual Director. In the past year of 2007, he illustrated and shipped 4 graphic novels and in 2008 he began shipping The End League with Dark Horse Comics which in 2008 was on Wizards Top 10 Hottest Comics list. Mat is also President and founder of CreatorSafe.com art up in San Diego that is focused on a Business Networking for the Entertainment industry.

Mat's goal is to be a successful leader in the entertainment industry as it continues to expand and be on the fore front of new media going forward.
