University of Washington Certification program.
The University of Washington offers three certificate programs to serve educational needs in our local game industry. These excellent career development opportunities, taught by leading experts in the game industry, are available in the evenings for working professionals:
- Experienced C++ programmers develop knowledge and skills needed for success as a game developer. Intro to 3D
- Novice artists and game programmers gain a solid introduction to the artistic side of the game industry, learning basic concepts and skills of 3D animation.

IGDA GAME DESIGNER SIG (Notice of formation)
"This outfit would meet once a month at some pub or restaurant that has decent food, beer, and table space. I want to avoid the Digipen or Microsoft-style meeting arrangements, i.e. no lectures. The point of the SIG would be for people to talk about game design face-to-face."

We are looking for people to be on the organizational, advisory, and chapter admin boards and to create local chapters. We have forums and mailing lists available from the website, and we also have an IRC channel ( irc.freenode.net #indie-sig )
