What games contain sexual content?

If you're a parent, like I am, and you happen to own an Xbox, PS2 or a personal computer, odds are there's a pile of games somewhere in your house. You may have a couple piles - games that you get to play (M-rated games), and games that are reserved for your kids (E, E10 or T-rated games).

How can you tell which games have sexual content? The Sex SIG provides these handy reference links for you:

Level 1 list (strongest descriptors):

PS1 & PS2 games
Xbox games
PC games
Gamecube games

Level 2 list (suggestive themes):

PS1 & PS2 games
Xbox Games
PC games
Gamecube games

Level 3 list (mild suggestive themes):

PS1 & PS2 games
Xbox games
PC games
Gamecube games

For more information, see the ESRB's site and its descriptors which range from mild suggestive themes (people flirting with one another) to strong sexual content as seen in GTA:SA. You can even do your own search.

Link of the Day - Nat'l Institute on Media & the Family

Today's link:

The National Institute on Media and the Family is, according to its website, "the world's leading and most respected research-based organization on the positive and harmful effects of media on children and youth."

This organization has an anti-censorship stance (see the About Us link), but advocates voluntary restrictions on content.

It also maintains its own KidScore(R) database of video game ratings.
