Random Trivia - Sierra's Dirty Secret
Here's a game that's often skipped when recounting the history of the company we know today as Sierra. It's Softporn Adventure. The game was released in 1981, and is often credited as the first commercially released, sexually themed game. It was completely text, and inspired Al Lowe to create the Leisure Suit Larry series.
The woman on the far right is game designer Roberta Williams.

Random Trivia - First Licensed Sex Game
The first licensed computer sex game that I can find comes from Avalon Hill, believe it or not. It's Dr. Ruth's Game of Good Sex released in 1986.

Random Trivia - First "Poke the Doll" Game
Yes, yes, I know that "poke the doll" is a terrible name for a whole genre of games. I didn't invent it, and so far my efforts to come up with something different only sound more, well, offensive.
Anyway, off to the random trivia. As far as I know, the first poke the doll game was Mac Playmate, released in 1986.

Random Trivia - The Photoshoot Game
There have been a few games since 2002 that have used the photoshoot mechanic, like Playboy: The Mansion or even Second Life with its full roaming camera and screenshot ability.
The first time that I can find this being used is back in 1994 with the Penthouse Interactive: Virtual Photo Shoot. The game was released in Japan and was followed up with other virtual cameraman games, though no further Penthouse games were released.

Random Trivia - Bowling in a Sex Game
So far, the only use of bowling as a mechanic in a sex game appears in the Play Sex Game online 3D simulator.
So odd, I figured it deserved its own mention.

Random Trivia - Earliest Game to Promote Safe Sex
To the best of my knowledge, the first promotion of safe sex in a video game occurred in 1987 with Leisure Suit Larry. If you failed to use a condom when you had sex with the prostitute, you died.
That's some serious consequences.

So far as I can tell, the earliest appearance of an erection in a video game appeared in the October 1982 release of Custer's Revenge.

Random Trivia
Q: What do you do when you've finished a book and have a head full of random sex in games trivia?
A: You create a category in your blog and start posting it on a semi-regular basis.
Stay tuned.
