  • Other positions?

Robert - wants to help as much as possible, but doesn't feel like he has the time Kane - doesn't have the background experience that others have, and time is an issue Jason - From a casual perspective James C. Smith - Doesn't have enough experience with the SIG, and knowing the mission Margaret - Time commitment is the issue

  • Jason Akel - could do it for 6 months, and then see how it goes

  • Should be a Gamelab article too
  • Incorporate slide presentations from various conferences
  • Post mortem on XBLA games

  • Also trying GameDaily, etc.

[edit] Idea Overview

This month we need to identify the 2-3 of these ideas we are going to work on first. (See August 2006 notes for more info).

  • Quarterly Wade
    • Post Mortems Robert Working on these via the Quarterly
    • DRM Jason (article for quarterly, then go from there)
    • Encourage more articles and data sharing James Smith
  • Business Info Robert Will start focusing on this more
  • Network reach of aggregators Jason (is in process, have 6-7 responses out of 20 so far)
  • Data Standards Initiative James G Charles (still in process, just need it implemented)
    • We need to centralize a place to publicize this
  • White Paper Update Margaret Brian Kane (Need to plan this for moving forward, how will this continue to be updated?)
  • Conference Group Gatherings (Is setup for GDC)
  • Wiki Maintenance (ongoing)
  • Advertising Standards James G Charles (continue, but probably post other things)
  • Awards Kane Wade Brian (Kane take the lead and see what we can do)
    • Wade in particular is interested in trying to have some sort of cross-portal "people's choice" style vote
    • This could become a sort of marketing tool?
  • Facilitate Community James Smith
  • Evolve the existing mailing list? Wade
  • Developer Reach out Margaret
  • Can we put out some sort of regular update?
    • What's going on locally, Quarterly release, etc.
    • Could be a great way to keep the SIG fresh in people's minds
    • What about organizing gatherings in other places beyond CGA locations?
      • One potential issue is that we don't have a "physical presence"
    • Would we be providing coordination for this? (Jason will think about this)
  • GDC party? Participate with Minna Mingle next year?

Items that are not being actively worked on for now

  • HelpShare Q&A Jason (on hold for now)
  • Standardization Rob (on hold for now)
  • Other Standards? James G
  • CGA Bridge James
  • Support audio development Kane
  • Conference Support Kane
