FOR MEMBERS OF THE GAME AUDIO NETWORK GUILD

So, what follows, while unbelievably wordy, is a step-by-step procedure for entering your credits into the Game Audio Database.

The first thing you'll want to do of course is sign into the website. Important safety tip: If you've just happened upon this newsletter and you are not yet a member of this guild, before reading any further you should just simply go to the website http://www.audiogang.org, click on the "Join Now and Become a Member" link and become a member.

Once you're logged into the website you can make your way to the database in a number of different ways.

First you can search for the desired game by entering the name (or part of the name) into the "SEARCH GANG SITE" field at the bottom of the menu/controller Flash movie. Choose the "GAME AUDIO DATABASE" radio button and then click the "SEARCH" button.

The second way is to scroll down on the homepage and click the "Change Your Member Profile", and scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the "Edit Game Credits" button.

Finally you can use the navigation bar to get there by clicking on "Community," and then "Edit My Member Profile," and scrolling down to the bottom of the page and clicking on the "Edit Game Credits" button.

The Game Audio Database Search Criteria screen will then pop up. You can enter or re-enter the title of the game you are searching as well as some additional information (publisher=Atari) and then click "Submit Search."

If the game you are looking for shows up on the results list you can then select that game. If you have a credit to add click the "Add/Edit Credits" button. Select your role with the game and click the "Submit" button. The game database will now list those credits, as will your user Profile.

If the game you are looking for does not show up on the results list you will first have to add the game to the database before you can add your credits.

To add a game to the database, enter the full title of the game into the Game/Title: field and click the "Submit Search" button. When the screen comes up with "No games were found based on selection criteria" click the "Create New Game Record" button. Fill out all of the required fields including the game title, the developer, publisher, year it was released, and platform. Once you have filled out all of the fields click the "Submit Game Information" button.

Once the game has been added to the database you can add your credits. Click the "Add/Edit Credits" button. Be sure to enter the name of the person you are entering credits for, presumably yourself, appears at the top of the page. Once you have filled out all of the fields that apply to the work you did on the game click the "Submit Game Credits" button. Your submission won't be accepted until you've filled out all of the required fields related to the credit you are entering so be thorough. Once your entry is accepted your new game and associated credits will now be apart of the Game Audio Database. If after all of this you are still having trouble, you should first go back and read it all again, but if after that you are still having problems, you can certainly e-mail me, if you dare…
