Steve Jacobs: so, to review members...

Steve Jacobs: Andy and Chris said no

Steve Jacobs: Beth said she'd try

Steve Jacobs: Wendy said???

Sande: Wendy, Andy, and Chris will not be here.

Sande: Beth said yes, she will also take care of the log.

Sande: See, there is Beth.

Beth A. Dillon: HEY!

Steve Jacobs: ok

Steve Jacobs: Richard was in or out???

Beth A. Dillon: Not sure

Sande: Richard was a maybe, since he was on vacation til yesterday

Steve Jacobs: Thought it was something like that

Sande: Just need one more member, right?

Steve Jacobs: Yah

Steve Jacobs: give it a few more minutes

Sande: But if you want to know who are the ppl who don't regularly attend... it would be Jim Swallow and Ed Kuehnel

Beth A. Dillon: Ha

Steve Jacobs: just wanted to know what we needed for a quorum and who else we'd heard from in the past few days

Steve Jacobs: So far the agenda seems to be mainly me and Richard

Sande: Kim, where are you at?

Sande: location wise

Beth A. Dillon: Got'cha.

Steve Jacobs: And beth for survey

Kim: St. Catharines, Ontario.

Sande: near Beth then?

Beth A. Dillon: I'm in Sault right now.

Kim: I was hoping to get some information about Write Club and to see if I could help out in any way.

Kim: The Sault is about 16 hours from me. :)

Sande: That's an Ed thing, Write Club

Beth A. Dillon: Exactly. Ha ha ha.

Kim: If you drive without stopping. :)

Sande: you can speed in Canada, can't you?

Sande: What kind of info did you need Kim?

Kim: Yeah, most of the time.

Kim: I was hoping to run the Write Club at the FuturePlay conference in October in London, Ontario.

Beth A. Dillon: I'm on the committee.

Sande: So you just need maybe the procedures?

Beth A. Dillon: Who have you been in touch with?

Kim: I just saw that Beth will be attending, and it would be great to have more input/help considering I have no idea what to do.

Kim: I got an e-mail from Ed Kuehnel and will be calling him later on today.

Beth A. Dillon: Yeah I can help you out and run it with you if you'd like.

Sande: You'll need judges.

Kim: That would be great. Thanks.

Beth A. Dillon: Since Ed did it with ... Jim last time?

Sande: Matt Entin.

Steve Jacobs: 50/50 I'll be at future play

Beth A. Dillon: Or Coray?

Sande: Coray was a judge.

Steve Jacobs: Ok, do we care to focus on any current business or are we just gonna shut this down?

Sande: You are a conference-hopping maniac, Steve.

Beth A. Dillon: Ha.

Kim: I just need to provide information to the conference organiser and start organising myself - how many participants, how many judges, what the process is, etc...

Steve Jacobs: ITS CLOSE

Steve Jacobs: oops

Steve Jacobs: 3-4 hours from RIT

Sande: go on with current business, if it's just reporting... don't think we have any voting to do.

Steve Jacobs: not a big thing to get to

Beth A. Dillon: I can definitely help with that Kim.

Kim: Thanks, Beth.

Steve Jacobs: Beth, why don't you go first

Beth A. Dillon: About? What?

Sande: Survey

Beth A. Dillon: Yeah we seriously just need to make it, because no one's editing it right now.

Sande: I didn't want to step on any toes.

Beth A. Dillon: Well the whole point of being on the committee was to edit it, and I think everyone edited as much as they want.

Beth A. Dillon: If everyone's happy with it, it's time to turn it into a working web survey.

Steve Jacobs: guess we'd have to vote on that, but we can do an e-mail vote later

Steve Jacobs: sounds good to me

Sande: We had discussions - I still wasn't clear on the scope. I personally would want the computer to do all the calculations.

Beth A. Dillon: It'll be a mix.

Beth A. Dillon: I thought that was clear.

Steve Jacobs: Survey Monkey rules :-)

Steve Jacobs: cheap and funtional

Beth A. Dillon: So the responses can be calculated, but we still want access to see specific results.

Steve Jacobs: let ya do both

Sande: You would see the specific results.

Sande: But in a report, it would be aggregated or as a mean

Steve Jacobs: many options

Steve Jacobs: suggest the survey task force check it out

Sande: Yeah, I mean there were issues that I saw that I didn't know how it was going to pan out

Sande: in regards to scope

Beth A. Dillon: Good plan

Sande: But if you want me to edit, I probably won't have time until after my move

Beth A. Dillon: Well make any edits you feel are necessary.

Beth A. Dillon: When will that be?

Sande: August

Steve Jacobs: where and why :-)?

Sande: New York.

Beth A. Dillon: Okay.

Beth A. Dillon: AGC is our drop dead date for the survey launch.

Steve Jacobs: city, elsewhere? For a Gig?

Sande: OH OK. Well it'll get done before then.

Sande: Just outside NYC.

Sande: 30 mins away

Sande: got property, wanna use it.

Sande: Need furniture, btw ;)

Beth A. Dillon: Okay, so.

Beth A. Dillon: We'll finalize the survey results through an email vote on the committee list.

Steve Jacobs: Rochester's 7 hours away from nyc :-) Big State

Beth A. Dillon: Survey results for questions, that is.

Beth A. Dillon: Then launch survey. Distribute at AGC for starters.

Sande: OK. So you'll have a comp there for them to do the survey or is it just a flyer in the bag?

Kim: I can let the other writers here know about the survey.

Steve Jacobs: If it's on-line by next Saturday, can publicise it at Sandbox

Beth A. Dillon: We assume someone will have a laptop there for them to do the survey.

Beth A. Dillon: Sorry, kids are asking me for change. Ha ha.

Steve Jacobs: Will be distributing quarterly's and having a SIG book drawing in RIT booth

Steve Jacobs: This is a nice segue into Austin

Beth A. Dillon: Go for it, next item.

Steve Jacobs: I distributed the following to Richard and Wendy...

Steve Jacobs: See note panel at right...

Sande: decorations? woo!

Steve Jacobs: Can you guys scroll that as well???

Sande: y

Kim: Yes.

Steve Jacobs: Will stretch it...

Sande: looks good

Beth A. Dillon: Woah where'd that come from?

Kim: I wish I could go to Austin. :( Can't make it this year.

Steve Jacobs: Haven't heard back from either of them yet but I assume I will in the next few days

Steve Jacobs: That stuff (with my comments) is distilled from the exhibitor kit. We're supposed to get one built especially for us this week, but that's my edit

Sande: looks like everything's on track.

Steve Jacobs: As long as we follow that list, we should be fine

Beth A. Dillon: Who are we asking for the logo from?

Steve Jacobs: The official kit will likely be sent to me tomorrow or early next week and I'll pass it on and then step out of the loop

Steve Jacobs: Logo I assume is the one on the MT site unless we want to, and can, come up with something different in 2 weeks

Beth A. Dillon: Okay

Steve Jacobs: I duuno if Wendy did it at a res that'll stand up to printing, or if it will res up well or not

Steve Jacobs: Ball's kinda in her court

Sande: hi Richard

Steve Jacobs: Richard!!!!!

Beth A. Dillon: She might

Steve Jacobs: she might what Beth???

Beth A. Dillon: Oh sorry. Have the capacity to get higher res.

Beth A. Dillon: Not sure though.

Steve Jacobs: More a question if it starts to look like hell once it gets rezzed up :-)

Steve Jacobs: Richard, got anything to say re white paper???

Beth A. Dillon: Got'cha.

Steve Jacobs: Richard, are you there Richard???

Sande: he's in the room, but might be reading the transcript

Dansky: Sorry about that. I'm up to my ears in impromptu meetings.

Steve Jacobs: Casual dress Ihope

Dansky: White paper stuff - I have three volunteers, and will be starting serious discussion on schedules, needed changes, etc. this week.

Steve Jacobs: Excellent

Beth A. Dillon: The news station is here to cover the Aboriginal Science Exchange Camp, so I have to run!

Steve Jacobs: Bye Beth

Beth A. Dillon: Someone take meeting minutes and put them on the wiki please.

Kim: Bye, Beth. I'll contact you later about FuturePlay. Thanks again.

Beth A. Dillon: Definitely Kim. beth.a.dillon@gmail.com

Beth A. Dillon: Drop me a note.

Kim: I will. Thanks.

Steve Jacobs: anyone else have anything??

Sande: what's on the agenda?

Dansky: Is there anything that I need to say/do about Austin?

Steve Jacobs: There's that list up in the notes field

Steve Jacobs: It went out to you and Wendy in e-mail

Sande: you have the quarterly for sandbox, Steve?

Dansky: OK. We should divvy up stuff off-list, I suppose.

Steve Jacobs: you were gonna let us know if you needed your comp Richard, or if I was paasing it on to the student.

Dansky: I've sent an email to Susan and will hopefully have an answer ASAP.

Steve Jacobs: Ben and Coray say its waiting for the reg code from game initiative

Steve Jacobs: they should have gotten it today

Sande: Well, aren't you a speaker?

Coray Seifert: hey folks, sorry for the tardiness...long meeting

Sande: If you're a speaker, you don't need a comp.

Steve Jacobs: then they'll ship me a pdf and I'll get it printerd somewhere

Dansky: I've been added to the speaker list but my session hasn't been approved, and I have this terrible habit of being cautious about such things, lest I end up panhandling outside the Austin convention center with a sign reading "will discuss game writing for food" :-)

Steve Jacobs: RIchard if you don't need the comp and want to oversee the student and back up Wendy, I'll pass the 2nd comp to the student.

Steve Jacobs: Good to be safe richard

Steve Jacobs: Still a surprising number of TBA's on the list

Sande: :) Oh, and you're definitely going since it's approved by Red Storm, right?

Steve Jacobs: on the other hand, their e-mail blast cites you as a speaker :-)

Sande: You can't be a speaker if you're outside panhandling.

Steve Jacobs: They also misspelled your name in it, but I fixed it and told them to change it :-)

Steve Jacobs: Coray, did you get the code from game initiaitve yet???

Steve Jacobs: I told them we were waiting on them

Coray Seifert: i haven't gotten anything

Dansky: I'd have to speak very loudly, Sande :-)

Sande: I was interested in the comp, but you already had it for the student :) I can't do heavy lifting anyway...

Coray Seifert: actually, ben is enroute, so if you guys have any questions about the quarterly, we can answer them then

BenServiss: Hey all, apologies for the lateness

Coray Seifert: and there he is

BenServiss: Just got back from a week in London and boy is my brain fried

Steve Jacobs: so, my question about the code remains...

Steve Jacobs: Did Ben or Coray get it from the Austin organizers???

Sande: lucky you to be in London. Hopefully, it wasn't hot.

Coray Seifert: I havent

BenServiss: We received no code

BenServiss: I thought that plan was scuttled?

Sande: I thought it was the general dicount before July 24 anyway...

Sande: disct before July 22

Steve Jacobs: Nope

Steve Jacobs: doesn't expire that early

Steve Jacobs: they've been promising it, and the text, for a couple of days

Coray Seifert: well, if anything needs to get in, it needs to be by tomorrow

BenServiss: If we are expected any text we'll need it asap

Coray Seifert: *said the producers*

Steve Jacobs: sending out another mail right now

Steve Jacobs: should go to Coray or Ben?

Coray Seifert: both!

Steve Jacobs: ok

BenServiss: We are the quarterly collective

BenServiss: Prepare to be assimilated

Sande: why don't you just call?

Steve Jacobs: Sent

Steve Jacobs: Its their responsibility. They set us a bunch of conditions to meet, if they drop the ball we're not obligated

Sande: cool

Steve Jacobs: an e-mail a day the past few days is more than enough

Steve Jacobs: :-)

Sande: you tried :)

Steve Jacobs: now, if theSIG we're getting a kcick back on every registration.....

Steve Jacobs: Then I'd be calling them :-)

Sande: That would be cool!

Sande: SIG slush fund!!!!

Coray Seifert: any other issues for the quarterly? believe it or not, got another meeting coming up!

Steve Jacobs: Ok we've covered the agenda items except new intitiatives (outside of Richard's news) and that's my bad as I need to send the e-mail

Steve Jacobs: keep forgetting

Steve Jacobs: Will catch up over the weekend

Steve Jacobs: WHo's posting this to the wikki?

Sande: And the GDC proposals agenda item is dropped bec there's no time to do any of that.

Steve Jacobs: We've created a great list of ideas, so there's plenty of stuff for folks to do I think

Steve Jacobs: Good luck to those of you who are submitting

Sande: I nominate Steve to post it to the Wiki :)

Steve Jacobs: declined

Steve Jacobs: must run out to get passport and do other analog items

Steve Jacobs: late already :-)

Sande: I'm buying a ticket to Taiwan....

Steve Jacobs: Ben?

Sande: Agghh. OK You're making me do it.

Steve Jacobs: Penalty for being last guy in??

Coray Seifert: *calls notIt*

Sande: Well, how can he do it? does he see the whole transcript?

Steve Jacobs: will send him transcript

Steve Jacobs: doing so now

Kim: I could do it, though I'd need instructions on putting it up on the Wiki... so that might not be very helpful.

Sande: Ok. Ben?

BenServiss: Did someone say my name?

Steve Jacobs: sent :-)

Coray Seifert: hey folks, great chatting for a few...gotta run though...shoot me any questions via email!

Steve Jacobs: Just sent you the transcript to post to the wiki

Steve Jacobs: gotta fly

Steve Jacobs: ...poof

Coray Seifert: ta ta!

Sande: alright, mtg adjourned.

Kim: I have to run as well.

Kim: Nice meeting you all. :)

Sande: nice to meet you too

BenServiss: Right, hopefully next time I'll be able to make more than the last 4 minutes of the meeting

BenServiss: Bye!
