Destroy All Humans is fast and funny, but the humor doesn't get in the way of the information that the player needs to progress in the game. The main characters have distinctive voices that feel natural and fit with the overall game idiom, while the minor NPC chatter is amusing while reinforcing the "cartoon fifties" setting with its content. The pools of generic lines are deep enough that they're not quickly and irritatingly repetitive, and the changeups of these pools between levels is extremely welcome. The fact that this is a "funny" game that is actually funny - the jokes work on several levels, from slapstick to subversive - is another mark in its favor.
