Develop a Style Guide for people who write for and about games.

No plan has been approved as this project is still in its infancy. The following chapters have been proposed:

  • Writing Basics - Conceptual, procedural, and explanatory writing
  • Book Design - Front matter, body matter, and back matter
  • Specifications - Developing design documents
  • Technical Writing - Creating game manuals, help systems, and embedded help
  • Dialogue - Writing scripts and screenplays for games
  • Journalism - Writing game reviews and articles
  • Strategy Guides - Writing guidebooks, walkthroughs, and FAQs
  • References - Developing research materials and white papers
  • Editing - How to edit documentation; your own and other writers'
  • Styles - Managing styles and writing style guides
  • Tools - Other style guides, recommended reading, and development tools
