The goals of this meeting were to evaluate our prototype HTML pages and set some milestone dates for the completion of near-term tasks. We ended up with a few deadlines and a clearer picture of what needs to be done in order to meet these deadlines.

  • all team members were able to view the HTML prototype and give feedback
  • tech team members were pointed to the working locally how-to wiki page in order to setup Subversion on their local machines

  • Flow looks like we are on the right path... and no one noticed any issues with the ERD
  • The page flow is similar to this site

  • Live prototype site set up by 7/23-7/30
  • Next meeting 7/27 at 2:00 PM PST

  • Developer site goes live 8/15 so industry can fill out profiles.
  • Team builds Community portion simultaneously

  • Community site goes live 9/10
  • Use month as Beta
  • Speaker Materials available

  • PR activities hit


Any items that aren’t critical path for basic functionality by 9/10 will be slotted for version 2.0

So far this includes:

  • Speaker Review Section – put up after site is live (Oct)

[edit] Server set-up and domain registration

  • Jason has server and will set it up when he gets back from vacation in addition to guiding team on speaker database and IGDA db
  • Shane will work out deployment strategy and do server maintenance
  • Security – see if we can use IGDA encryption, check logistics, see how secure we can get, if this becomes a pain it may be moved to post-launch

  • Does anyone have a friend? Austin will ask around as will other team members.
  • Should we put it in the IGDA website (Jason?)

  • This functionality will be live with the September 15th date (so Education and Speaker Support Team must have basic material ready)

  • Austin will discuss via e-mail with Jason and keep Shane in loop

[edit] Implementation of Search

  • How to do area search? Use Google maps?
  • Need to get input on job categories/speaker topics (7/30)

  • Domain name
  • Jobs/topics category search from policies/education committee
