[edit] About Paul

Paul is a "confuser" programmer here in Toronto. He has been poking around with computers and games for nearly two decades... mostly playing games, so don't be too impressed. :) Paul is a Flash developer for an upcoming title that will change the known universe, volunteers with the Toronto IGDA Chapter, volunteers with TOJam.ca events, and enjoys pursing game programming interests in the open source community.

Paul is a swell guy.

You can learn more about Paul at his webpage.

[edit] Current Projects

TOJam
Write a game in three days! We're organizing an event here in Toronto similar to a LAN party, except that we're writing a game, rather than playing them. We've been poking around with various languages, libraries and toolkits to help make it easy to get going. My personal favorite for the moment is PyGame (Python and SDL) to make fun 2D games, plus PyODE (an open-source physics engine).

Under the nickname "youBastrd!", Paul is an active contributor and administrator of three open source games:

TW-Light
A kickass space combat/adventure game, set in the classic Star Control universe. TW-Light is a derivative of Timewarp, and is in active development.
Star Control: Timewarp
A kickass space combat/adventure game, which is the parent of TW-Light. Timewarp has been in development for over six years, although Paul has only been around for 2 'n change of that.
MonkeyPoo!
MonkeyPoo! is a real-time strategy game, with a focus on stragegy, rather than tactics. It has fast gameplay, and a great sense of humour. It's currently in the planning stages, although a first prototype is coming soon.
