Dave Rohrl is a veteran game producer and designer with more than 30 published games to his credit. He is widely regarded as a leader in creative and production issues in the casual game space.

After a 6+ year stint as a producer/designer in The Learning Company's internal edutainment studio (where Dave built more than a dozen games including the company's best-reviewed game ever), Dave joined casual game pioneer Pogo.com in the spring of 2000.

After creating several of Pogo's most popular online properties including Word Whomp, Tumble Bees, Payday Freecell, and Hammerhead Pool, Dave became an early advocate of moving Pogo into multiple businesses models. After creating preliminary requirements and business plans for Club Pogo (Pogo's 1.5 million member subscription service), Dave turned his focus to creating and launching Pogo To Go, Pogo's downloadable game channel. Working with a focused and dedicated team, Dave was able to take Pogo To Go from green light to a revenue producing site in just over 4 months. From late 2002-2005, Dave led game development and product selection for Pogo To Go before leaving to start PopCap Games' San Francisco development studio.

During Dave's tenure at PopCap, he created a studio from scratch and built it up to two full new product development teams while personally leading development on PopCap's iPod games. Since leaving PopCap in 2007, Dave has been working as a senior creative consultant while starting up new companies in the casual game development (Shiny Top Games) and creative consulting (CasualPro) spaces.

In the past, Dave has served as a contibutor and section editor of the IGDA Online Games SIG White Paper and has served as a Steering Committee member for the Online Games SIG. He is the co-organizer of the Casual Games Summit tutorial at GDC and has spoken at numerous conferences including The Casual Games Conference, Casual Connect, the Austin Games Conference, the LA Games Conference, and the Montreal International Game Summit.

Dave resides in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife, two daughters, and a random menagerie of pets. He can blind you with the glare from his very tall forehead.
