Here are the highlights from the meeting below and the chatlog is attached.
  • Introductions
  • Website
    • Went over the setup of the site (how it works on igda.org)
    • Don't have to pay for hosting

    • Additional features, some may be confusing (dual member list, one in google docs and one on the site)
    • Blog posts, calendar, etc.
    • Keep both google group and website -- google group is for discussion, while website is for archiving / keeping a place where we can see what is going on or we have done.
  • Book Update
    • Book one planned to come out in August
    • Launch party planned for Oct 9th in NYC -- party is cohosted with GBLNYC
    • Waiting on one more chapter for book two and doing final edits/formatting
  • Potential group initiatives
    • Host resources for teachers /other groups on site?
    • Collect info on various educational game portals out there and do a report on pros/cons?
    • Rate games for learning? Discuss how to do that?
    • Key to have a leader or two attached to each initiative to drive it forward.
  • Upcoming Events/Conferences Spreadsheet
    • Update with what you know is coming up! Link to spreadsheet is here.
