Renee Gittins
Executive Director

Renee is a multi-disciplinary leader with expertise in software engineering and creative direction. In addition to her role as Executive Director, she maintains her work as the CEO of Stumbling Cat, creator of Potions: A Curious Tale. Prior to her appointment as Executive Director, she served on the IGDA Board of Directors and the IGDA Seattle Chapter Board. She has also worked in leadership and technical roles across several studios, including WITHIN, Microsoft, and Spirit AI. Prior to her work in the game industry, she designed and developed cognitive evaluation mini-games and health management systems for X2 Biosystems.

Renee is a passionate advocate and connector for developers and diversity in the game industry. She is outspoken about initiatives to increase diversity both within the game industry and gaming overall, especially within virtual reality. To further support the growth of developers, she's organized game-jams, panels, job fairs and other developer events, and mentored game development students and built education programs at Foundry10. Her goal is to help the game industry grow and improve for everyone.

Tristin Hightower
Director of Operations
Tristin Hightower is the Director of Operations for the IGDA, hired in March 2013. She was named Geek of the Year at the 2012 Philadelphia Geek Awards and is "kind of a big deal.” Tristin entered the industry in 2006 as a Web Producer for Comcast’s Casual Games portal. After leaving Comcast, she produced the 2009 GameX Industry Summit. More recently, she was a community manager for Burst Online Entertainment before accepting a position with the IGDA as the Director of Operations. No stranger to the IGDA, Tristin has been heavily involved in the organization as a member of the Women in Games SIG Steering Committee from 2008 to 2013 and the Philadelphia Chapter from 2009 to 2013. She has also participated in the coordination of five game jams since 2010. Tristin has led several initiatives to get more women involved in game development and technology in general. She is the co-founder of the Philadelphia chapter of Girl Geek Dinners and was a co-organizer of Philadelphia’s first women*-only hackathon, LadyHacks. Newly relocated to the Greater Denver area, Tristin looks forward to learning about the local gamedev and tech scenes.
